Remember the little Sony Vaio we wrote about in the spring? It was quite a looker and it had the latest technology under the keyboard. Since technology moves very fast it’s time the Sony Vaio Y got an update.
The 11.6″ 1366×768 Sony Vaio Y is ready to receive the latest dual-core AMD E-450 processor which will up the performance a bit. The AMD Radeon 6320 graphics chip will also be there, as well as the 500 GB hard drive and 2GB RAM. The other usual specs are also there: WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, webcam, HDMI out, a card reader and Windows 7 Home Premium (SP 1).
The Sony Vaio Y will go live in Japan October 8th and the price tag is huge: 90.000 Yen or about $ 1172. Surely there must be something wrong because at this price people can buy better laptops. We are waiting for the official US prices.
