Origin PC offers optional Frostbyte and Cryogenic liquid cooling systems

Origin PC has been making some of the more interesting gaming computers for a while now. One of the cooler things about the computers that Origin offers is that you can customize them as far as your budget allows. The company has announced that it will be offering two new liquid cooling systems as options on its gaming machines. Origin PC now offers the Frostbyte and the Cryogenic liquid cooling systems to allow for higher overclocking speeds on CPUs and GPUs. The company claims that the liquid cooling system allows up to 5.2GHz clock speeds on a single core processor. The Frostbyte can be used on graphics cards too and is a sealed and maintenance free system. It uses a micro-channel fluid heat exchanger. EA exec Peter Moore says Origin will be perfected in two years

Ever since Electronic Arts launched its own digital download platform Origin, a competitor to Steam that has caused a lot of controversy among PC gamers. After all, EA pulled its new games from Steam and has created a more confusing market in the digital distribution community. EA is accepting the criticism and telling gamers to just wait. The company’s Peter Moore said in a recent interview that Origin right now is kind of like the beginning of Steam. He noted that when that platform first launched, “People didn’t like it. You were obligated [to use Steam for downloadable games].” Of course, since then Steam has become almost as ubiquitous as any other game platform. Mass Effect 3 requires EA’s Origin

One time authentication and a constant net connection will be required to play It caused controversy for PC players of Battlefield 3, and now EA is set to push the requirement of installing Origin onto those who wish to sample Mass Effect 3 on their home computer. Origin, if you’re not familiar with it, is EA’s digital store, its equivalent to Steam. And there were certainly some folks who didn’t buy Battlefield 3 due to this, not being happy with having to install another application to bloat up their PC, particularly not Origin.
